Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach me at jazz@balancedbooksbyjazz.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

At Balanced Books by Jazz, pricing depends on your business needs — most clients choose a tailored monthly plan, while hourly rates apply for catch-up or one-off work. Book a free chat and i’ll work out the best option for you.

Balanced Books by Jazz offers a full range of bookkeeping services, including BAS/IAS lodgements, payroll, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, catch-up and clean-up work, program setup and training, and tailored bookkeeping plans to suit your business.

No — I work remotely, which means I can service clients across Australia. But I’m always available for Zoom or phone calls, and I can visit your premises locally (Wodonga/Albury & surrounds) by arrangement if needed.

A bookkeeper is all about the details of your business. They record and organise your financial transactions, manage cash flow, and provide the reports your accountant and the ATO need. If they’re a registered BAS agent, they can also handle your BAS obligations.

An accountant, on the other hand, looks at your business as a whole. They’re qualified to focus on the bigger financial picture, including tax management and strategic advice, while working alongside your bookkeeping records.

While some accountants do offer bookkeeping services, they usually charge a much higher hourly rate. Most accountants prefer to focus on higher-level accounting advice and business planning, leaving the day-to-day bookkeeping to a specialist.

Using a bookkeeper saves you time, keeps your records accurate, and ensures your business stays compliant. While doing your own books might seem simple, it’s easy for mistakes to slip in, deadlines to be missed, or reports to be incomplete. A bookkeeper handles the day-to-day financial tasks, reconciliations, payroll, and BAS preparation — giving you accurate records, peace of mind, and more time to focus on running your business. Along with those skills you must stay up to date with amendments in payroll, taxation, GST, PAYG and ATO legislation changes.

Harmonizing your finances with a touch of jazz - Let me balance your books!
